Pick a league (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL). Pick a slate (today's slate, this week, a specific date). Real upcoming games auto-load from live sports data.
Pick winners, over/unders, first scorer, whatever templates you load. Each player picks one game to mark as their lock-of-the-night before kickoff.
Live ticker on the venue TV. Standings shift in real time as quarters end and games finish. People look up at the screen between bites of wings.
Game ends, picks resolve from real box scores. Lock-of-the-night gets 2x points if right, 0.5x if wrong. No host arguing about whether someone said over or under.
Or whatever the venue's putting up. Historical accuracy tracking means there's a season-long leaderboard the regulars fight over.
What makes it shine
Every pick is graded against an actual box score. Nothing made up. No host typing in winners after the game.
Live sports data feeds, with a redundant fallback so a single outage doesn't kill the night. Schedules pulled the day-of, finals graded the moment a game ends. NFL Sunday, NBA weeknight, MLB summer, NHL winter, all year round.
Pick one game, double down. Right = 2x your points on it. Wrong = 0.5x. The whole bar's watching that one game's score crawl across the ticker.
Winner. Over/under. Spread cover. First TD. Pick the categories you want, leave the rest off. Different sport, different template stack.
Display mode runs on the venue TV next to the game broadcast. Standings, scores, lock results. Looks built-in, not bolted on.
Every player gets a hit-rate stat. The player who's 68% on NFL spreads is going to come back next week to defend it.
Final score lands, picks resolve. Host doesn't moderate disputes. Box score is the box score.
Pick'em is an Activity inside an Event, not a standalone mode. Drop music bingo, a halftime trivia round, or a poll into the same night and the venue display rotates the activities automatically. Sports bars run pick'em + bingo + ticker as a single Sunday recipe.
